@fatboyslimerr did you reuse your GPU thermal pads or replaced? If replaced, can you link me to where you got yours?

If I remember it right, the thermal pad needed for GPU vram is more than 1.0mm?

No don't get more than 1.0mm. I put new thermal pads on when I installed my 7970m and this morning I noticed the thermal pads have imprints of the vrams on them.
In other words they are being slightly compressed which is perfect. Any thicker thermal pads and you risk reducing pressure on chip/die leading to higher temperatures.

I'll try to check again when I get the chance. Might be different due to older GPU. Thanks

As an added bonus the slot loading dvd drive from my M15x physically launches DVDs across my desk when I click eject as the caddy is just open.
    Its quite simply brilliant!

Hmm I have a strange issue with the second drive. I cloned an external drive that contained all my music on to the now internal drive. It works fine on boot but after awhile my computer won't show drives (even though you can access them individually), applications no longer show the default programme icon (such as traffic cone for VLC player) and it just generally isn't working properly.

Could this be as a result of cloning the drive? Any suggestions?

EDIT: Ok I think I fixed this problem. My samsung SSD magician software told me to disable super fetch and some indexing thing. After re-enabling them the new internal HDD is working perfectly...I think

EDIT2: Problem still persisting despite a myriad of fixes applied. Boooo!
