I saw this review Alienware M11x UltraPortable review and it seems like they are advocating using the GPU to do video playback.

Contrary to what I would have thought. Anyone have experience using the GPU for video playback?

The 335m is more than capable to play 1080p.

Most of the time it wouldn't be necessary to use the Nvidia gpu for videos. The Intel integrated graphics are good enough for most video playback.

On an M11xR1 one needs the Nvidia GPU enabled to allow access via HDMI/DisplayPort.

Using HDMI and DisplayPort you can watch two(2) HD movies(720p) at the same time.

Ten metre HDMI cable and you can have two DVDs playing at the same time in different rooms. And that's using an M11xR1 SU7300 C2D.

    Just don't trip over cables!!
