just picked up the vertex 3 and ran the crystaldiskmark bench and got low results
this is in achi and a fresh install
any idea on why the speeds are so slow should be around 280 read and 260 write

I don't think I have ever seen the full advertised speeds on any drive I have ever tested.. heck there was a post a few days back where I tested a Seagate XT against my samsung SSD and this other guy posted numbers like yours using a R3 and a SATA III SSD and his numbers were no where near the 400 read speeds advertised.. Like with most advertising those numbers are an absolute maximum set in perfect conditions..

    Hi LockOn,

for a R2 that's normal. You wont get SATA 3 out of a SATA 2 interface. For a comparison see the attachment. These are my scores on an R2 with a RealSSD C300 256GB SSD. Nowhere near the advertised read:355MB/s and write:215MB/s speed in SATA3 mode. But for SATA2 these scores are good enough.

LockOn, you can see what driver is enabled in the app AS SSD Benchmark (attachmet). There you can also see if your Alignment i proper (should see an "OK"). if the alignment is BAD then you probably made a mistake while installing your OS.
To change the used driver google will help you ;)
