I just did a full reinstall of windows due to some crashing issues I was having ... I've gotten everything working properly except two things:

    a) Login background image. I followed all of the advice in the sticked link in the forums but the image still isnt' changing. I went into the registry and changed the appropriate value, setup the background folder and moved an image over in to it, renaming it to the appropriate thing. Anything else I need to do or I missed?

    b) I have an m11x. I downloaded the Intel Intel (R) WiFi Link 6250 driver from the site and tried to install it. I got the following error: "This software packaged cannot be installed on your system. The setup application will exit." I've tried installing it after all other drivers were installed, and I uninstalled all other network drivers and tried installing it ... nothing has worked. I was able to install it fine before I did the windows reinstall. Anyone else had this problem?

I should also mention that I am now seeing a new icon in the windows taskbar ... something called PeerNet.

It popped up as an m11x R2 driver, and I remember installing it before. :(

    a) Try Tweaks Logon Changer, you can download it here.

b)Not sure it will work but I had a similar problem when I installed an Intel 6300 wifi card into my m17x that I had. Download the driver directly from Intel's website from here, and when you install it right click then select run as administrator if it gives you the option to do that. Hope this helps!

I'm literally in the exact same situation as the OP. I tried following the Intel link but couldn't find m11x drivers (and I have tried downloading the correct drivers as an admin before, with no success). If anyone has solved the problem please reply ASAP, I need to find a solution for this for school work :(

Edit: Nevermind, I called Alienware support and they somehow managed to install the driver without issue. I'd recommend calling them to anyone else with such a problem

What did you do with the PeerNet?
