    soft touch black exterior

    Aight, so the canadian site offers different case exteriors for different customizations:

    Alienware M11x Laptop Details | Dell Canada

    ok, so if you go down a little bit it says different case colours for customizations

    Alienware M11x, Soft Touch Stealth Black FT
    it says under the standard config and the premium (which i am leaning towards has the lunar shadow which is grey?)

    and once i choose a base config i cant really change much in it and theres no option to change the colour.

    Can anyone else figure out how its done coz customer service is crap the guy said theres lots of colours available and he listed all the backlit keyboard options...

    R2 Soft Black/Glossy Silver

    Backlit KB color can be changed on the fly with AlienFX, and you can even have it change colors over time, or change responsing to music (with a WinAMP plugin) :)

    Some games (SupCom2/WiC) change the KB color based on game events :D

    If you're ordering from Canada, you can ONLY get the Lunar Shadow one. It looks really nice though, trust.

    the rubber coated thing sounds nice though :p
    but ill guess i could stick with the lunar shadow coz it looks cool :)

    I live in Toronto :p I picked up a M11x R2 with the Soft Touch Black. Been almost 6 months, impressions? Looks great, but it's a fingerprint magnet. Seriously you look at my lid and you'd swear I had french fries for lunch daily what with all the grease marks. It all wipes off tho, sorta a tri-weekly ritual now :p

    I imagine the grey would have less fingerprints, but I still prefer the black. It's also not shiny, which I like, hell the screen is glossy enough without the lid and case blinding my reflection back at me too.

    heh bit tired of waiting to be honest. I'll stick to the grey I think it looks fine, plus a few people said the rubber starts wearing off or is damaged easier. Got tiny kids around so the other one will be fine.
