    Hey guys,

I have an M11x R2 I bought in July 2010, and an M14x R1 from May 2011. I'm planning to sell the M11x R2 because I don't really need both and I'd like to pick up something else, but I'm not entirely sure what the best way is to go about it. Craigslist? eBay? Anybody on this here Notebook Review Forum?

Also, what would be a reasonable price? I'm hoping $600. It's the i7-640UM model with 4GB RAM.

    Thanks!

I should say that I am not entirely sure you will get $600 for it as I often see R3's sell for less. At all events, eBay is the best place to sell it. But I suppose you could also try advertising it here: NBR Marketplace

Not trying to contradict you, but almost every time I see an R3 on ebay, it's priced at 800 CAD or more. The price gouging on those things is insane. Even at base specs, you're lucky to find them for less than 600, and this is generally with the units having seen considerable use. I bought my max spec R3 for 600 through kijiji, and the only reason I managed to get away with a price like that was because they guy selling it was was a computer hobbyist with a stable job who was looking to cut down the number of systems he owned as opposed to maximize his profits.

As to the OP's question, the M11x you own is base spec and upwards of 2 years old, which would set it at about 450 to 500 for the unit if I am to go by the price politics around M11x I've seen on ebay. Even at that, you might have trouble selling it at the higher end of that range. I'd definitely give the NBR marketplace a shot as well.

$600 US is fine. Have seen them selling for more than that though.

I just sold my R2 for $500 last week with a MomentusXT rather than the SSD shown in my sig.

Thanks for the tips, everybody. Dinosaur Brutus: it's not quite base spec because it has the i7 instead of the i5, but your point is well taken.
