    In short: not quite. You need both a new mobo as well as a the daughter board to even make the system boot, as well as make some additional changes.

    There are some slight differences in the size of the boards as well as the placement of some of the ports that make fitting an R3 board into an R2 chassis annoying, on top of needing both the main board and secondary board in order to be able to make the system turn on. There was actually a thread on these forums a while back where a user did exactly what you are trying to do, and the conclusion was that it is simply not worth it due to needing to modify or replace a large portion of the system just to make it boot. If you want the R3 experience, sell your R2 and buy an actual R3 instead.

    It's easier to do that and sell yours on ebay or on the same marketplace.
