    Hi,

I'm considering getting a m11x as a portable computer however I'm concerned about the optimus issue and I do like the VGA port of R1. On the dell site

I have the option of choosing the cheaper core 2 version but it doesn't actually say if it's the R1. My question is do they still make R1 or am I stuck with R2 until their next revision?

Yes, they still make R1's. Any M11x with a Core 2 is an R1.

I have an R2 and I would hardly call Optimus an issue, though. No comment on the VGA port as I've no use for one.

Agreed - perfect opp to take advantage of the search feature as we have more than one thread specifically about this. :)

As GoingViral mentioned, yes - there are still R1's and those will have the Core2 processor :)
