    my one week old m11x hinges already gave up on me as you can see.

    called the alienware rep and said that they're sending a tech to come down to fix it...sighhh I guess its better that it broke now rather than later.

    Did you try snapping the two halves back together? See if it stays secure that way. I had this same problem with the casing around the hinge and the tech said that it's not really a hinge issue, but replaced my screen anyways (with the new design).

    Mine took 8 months. Replaced with the 'updated' part. We'll see how long that lasts lol.

    My non-updated replacement has lasted almost 8 months now, I guess not all of them are bad.

    Mine lasted 11 months with heavy usage before breaking, just in time before warranty expired.

    I had to send pictures to the AW representative I talked to... he called back today and said that on monday the technician will call me and come to fix my hinge.

    Is that an r3? That should already have the new design.

    It's an r1 my good sir, but when I type my service tag into the dell support site it shows up as an r3 (with an su7300) 0_0 . Idunno lol.

    and plus I should add that my screen right now has one dead pixel on the bottom left corner, and for dell to replace my screen because of a dead pixel minimum is three.
    So I guess getting the whole screen assembly change is a good thing :p
    kinda dissapointed though the machines only 2 weeks old and I've been babying the thing since it came out of the box.
