If you order from dell they have to build the laptop then ship it to you. If you order form newegg they have that specific model on hand and can immediately ship to you but you lose all your customization options that way. What kinda specs does it have?

If it has the config you want, no reason not to. You'll get it in a matter of days as opposed to weeks.

The newegg model seemed just fine to me (I have the 4/320 config although ordered originally from the Microsoft Store), and you'll get it even next day with the right shipping. Mine was less at the MS store, otherwise I would have ordered through newegg.

You also won't be able to customize your nameplate (if you happen to care about that...), if you order from Newegg. In that case it will have something generic, I think "m11x" engraved.

I'd go for it. Hard disks are cheap if you want to upgrade that, so too is memory. I wouldn't worry about the nameplate at all (although I am vain enough to order direct from Dell because I want the nameplate engraved), and NewEgg for me have always been outstanding if things don't go to plan and you need to return it.

Hope you enjoy your new machine as much as we all do.

FWIW, I called Delienware and ordered a nameplate after the fact, for my second m11x, purchased from the Microsoft store. They are sending it out free of charge, but it does take a while...

Might want to also check the warranty type, the Best Buy versions come with standard/basic warranty that doesn't offer NBD support so the newegg may be the same. Anything ordered directly from Dellienware automatically has NBD as the default warranty.

Definitely check it out, my warranty through the MS store was NBD but I have seen plenty ship w/1yr basic only.
