    Knipsel.jpg hey,

I wanted to clean out the fan and repaste the CPU and GPU.

I might have been a bit to enthousiastic when tearing it apart...
I broke of the black thingy to locks the backlighting of the keyboard in place

anyone knows if i can replace it?

all the rest worked out fine, just i feel sad i broke the backlighting :/

I'm not sure those parts are replaceable (though I hope they are with how easy they are to break). Try searching for ribbon cable clips or something to that effect. I don't think the clips or ports are proprietary, so you might be able to find one that fits.

Or you could try to MacGyver a fix with something small to wedge into the port to hold the ribbon cable in place. This may not be the best solution due to the fact that the laptop will likely be mobile and the cable may slip out.

Yup, this may not be the best thing to do but it's certainly cheaper and easier.

    hey,
I sorta MacGyver it with some superglue ( a small drop) on the tip of a screwdriver so I wouldn't make a mess, it stays in but no backlighting..
I gues I could get used to it after a while, at least I didn't break anything vital.

For future reference, please never ever use superglue for ribbon connectors or anything of the sort. If anything ever goes wrong (like it appears to have here), you've tied your hands and made repairs nigh impossible.
