    Hi Guys,

I am desperately needing some help here. Initially I was cheering when I got a benchmark score of 8476 using 3Dmark06, (540/1296/940) using ThrottleStop.

However, I can't play any online matches of sc2, so I overclocked the gpu at settings of 523/1255/850. Even with the slightest overclock of my GPU, SC2 will freeze. SC2 freezes when the game begins (just right after selecting a character in DoTA wars), but my laptop hasn't crashed. I am running on the latest bios (A03) and upgraded to all the latest drivers with GPU driver-Verde Notebook Release 260.89

    My system spec is:
    i7 640UM- Overclocked @ 150.
    500GB SATA II
    4GB RAM

    Any help would be appreciated.

I can overclock 570/link/910 in 3dmark 06 but crashes in games most times.
To get fully stable all round gaming, seems to vary with games, more like 520-530/link/890/900.

If you are crashing with a very small overclock then maybe its a driver issue not your GPU?

    what one are you using?

Unlink the core with shader speeds. over clock the core and memory, leaving shader speed untouched. I notice that its very sensitive to MANY games if you change the shader speed. My current stable settings are 535/1080/940 try that with SC2

I don't ntocie any performance increase with the gpu overclocked vs not with sc2

Thanks Rotsu! Will try that now and get back to you! I've been overclocking the GPU with the link using EVGA precision. Very happy with the benchmark until it kept freezing me while in the game...

I noticed the smoothness and higher frames when playing SC2 multiplayer when I overclocked the GPU. I can even see higher frames when running 3dmark06 on average throughout the GPU tests, and this is just just CPU clock @ 150 (i can't get higher because my system BSOD...)

Rotsu you are right! However, it seems that I can't overclock more than 535? It keeps reverting back to this number...

Make sure to save the new profile after you apply the change. I didnt bother to go higher than 535 though, maybe you are right. Is the game stable at those settings?

I figured that if u want to go higher than 535, you need to push the shader clock settings up. Otherwise it will still bind it to 535. Yes it is stable, but the game would be way smoother if the games don't crash because of the shader clock...

after some fraps benchmarking of replays i can conclude that there is NO performance game in SC2 with GPU overclock from stock to 540/1200/900 overclock there was 0 change in average FPS, low or max FPS. This game is CPU bottlenecked on the i5... probably the i7 and c2duo as well.
