m11x upgrade/repair poject

Sup all,

I have an m11x r2 with a bad motherboard.

What is the best value for fixing that?

I have read that there are 4500 and 5400 su chips... as well as i3, i5, and i7 chips. Which offers the best overclocking?

Also, does anyone know if an ssd would be wasted on the motherboard? Is the motherboard fast enough to make use of the ssd? Is that dependent on the cpu?

You could hunt around on ebay and try to see if you could find an R2 motherboard for a decent price. That's probably the easiest solution. Other than that, you could just go ahead and buy a new R1, as they usually sell for pretty cheap, and, as far as I know, the Core 2 Duo that the R1s came with is the most overclock friendly.

The project is really for fun, but I do want to sell the computer after I get it fixed up...

Will the i7 m11x go for 100 usd more than the c2d m11x?

That's a good price. The i7 will let you sell it at a higher price when you decide to do so.
