Mine does this too, only while on battery power though.

Try reseating the battery, hardrive, and/or memory modules.

Which M11x do you guys have?

When I first got my M11xR3 it was having the same problem and when I called DELL Support they got my motherboard replaced.

    Perhaps you should call them.

I have an R2 that is out of warranty, unfortunately if I wanted to replace the mobo I'd have to do it myself through ebay.

I've got the same problem; searched the forum and no one ever figured out why.

Running an R2, i5. The laptop would just randomly shut down and go into sleep mode regardless of whether it was plugged in or on battery.

I reformatted and still the same problem. Recently it just went away so now I'm just hoping that I won't encounter it again.

Could it be that it is temperature related? Try downloading HWinfo and see if your CPU and GPU temps are going above the limits?

Not temp related, I use TStop to monitor the temps and temps are within acceptable range.

    Hi,
I'm new here, obviously. I've come to this forum so many times regarding my M11x through Google. And now its time to give something back.

I did too have the random shut downs. At first I thought it was the free fall sensor, because it only happened when I moved my pc around. But then I Googled some more and found some info about the subject.

EDIT: I have the R1, Dell came the next day changed motherboard and battery. The guy did also ruin all my screws..
