I've been gaming on it for a few months, and it is the perfect size. I hardly notice that it's smaller than a sheet of paper, since it's got such a nice resolution.

The only way you would even be able to tell that you are on a small screen is if you sat really far away and glanced at your surroundings a lot. Otherwise your eyes are focused in on the screen.

Yep, sometimes I wish the screen at home (28") would be a bit smaller, big screens hurt the eyes. Besides, half the time I'm so amazed with m11x performance that you hardly even notice the screen size.

I love the small screen size, it is perfect for me. I don't like big screens at all, the computer at work drives me crazy!

If you are used to the normal 15" laptop screens, you are gonna see it little at first, some days, I have 1 week with mine, and coming from a Dell Inspiron with a 15.6" screen, it was little, now is perfect...

And I miss most the resolution, not the size, my Dell is 1280x800, this is 1366x768, is almost the same, I feel weird with the netbook that I have, is a 10" with 1024x600 screen resolution, that my friend is a small size and smaller resolution...

I agree completely. The lower resolution is more noticeable than the small size. Since, in my opinion, gaming isn't that dependent on resolution, it's perfectly fine. I'm more apt to think of it as small while on the internet or something like that.

720p and 1080p 16:9 ratio have a lot to answer for.
It seems to have become all pervasive on laptop screens.

The screen size of the M11x is fine. I'd just much rather a screen ratio of 16:10.

Video and Gaming at 16:9 are great, but having to scroll up and down web pages can be a bit of a pain when a 16:10 could give you a few more lines.

Or I can just go and plug my M11xR1 into my two 24" 16:10 IPS monitors via HDMI and DisplayPort and stop grumbling. :D

    Ah, it's all good.

Personally I wouldn't have minded an extra 1" or so, but having said that you don't notice it, and then in hindsight you're thankful because you don't have to crank up AA

You have to get used to the size everytime.
My Desktops has a 26", so everytime I'm on holiday or at a friend, the first 2-30min are like..wo...thats...small....but then its fine.
If your playing starcraftII, then its too small...
Bu I love the portability, and I'm also attaching a monitor while playing at a friends house.

this has been my main gaming machine since June. Have no issue with the screen size so far. In fact I like the overall size. Easy for me to carry around like to a friend places and party with games whole night long. Even just sitting by a cafe a frag some noobs. Simply love this lappy.

I came from 2 years of using a 17 inch laptop screen.
I literally got used to the 11.6 in less than a few minutes.
I'm sure it's safe to say everyone usually expects it to be smaller than what it is.

If you hit your F11 key you get 3 or 4 more lines in most browsers and also in some programs, hit F11 again to back out. I use this a lot on my M11x and my netbook too.

Here are some pics with my 3 machines and my HDTV:

    http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b245/VIdaluko/DSC09271.jpg

The HDTV is a Samsung 32" LCD 1080p
The first laptop (the left one) is a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a 15.6" screen
Middle one, well, is the m11x with a 11.6" screen
The last one is a Compaq netbook, with a 10" screen

BTW, all have max bright, and the m11x is the most bright of all 3, and also, the Dell Laptop also has the same glossy screen than the m11x, the netbook is mate, you can´t reflect on it even outside in the sun

If I didn't have a 23 inch Samsung PX2370 at home, I would probably have a problem with the screen. The size is great for portability, and obviously this is what the laptop promotes. But for all the time I have it at home I much prefer to have it on a big screen. Although when I take it over to a friends and play some SC2, I don't find myself complaining.

I think 13.3" is the sweet spot for laptops, so if ever Alienware graces us with a m13x I'll be all over that.

The only other complaint about the screen is the actually quality, which is subpar at best (contrast, brightness, and super glossy). Again that's fixed when I plug it into my beautiful Samsung

Yeah 12.1" or 13.3" would be much better. 11.6" is OK, you get used to it. I've used all 3 sizes. :p

Definitely not too small unless you're planning to compete in professional gaming tournaments or something.

For browsing I was a little worried until I found the Firefox addon Default FullZoom Level. Before that, I had to keep hitting "CTRL +" to get web pages to use the screen space properly.

LOL, didn't even know this feature existed. Thanks for the tip!

BTW, I've gone from a 15.6 to a 13.3 (both Studio XPS) to this present 11.6 inch screen.
I love the small form factor, and the screen takes just a few minutes to get used to,
even though text is smaller than I'd like it to be.
