I'm skeptical about it. Unless there is a way to pack enough hardware to run games at 30+ FPS on medium-high settings into something of that size, then I find it difficult to believe it will pose some sort of serious threat.

its using an atom processor, people on this forum complain the ULV i7 is not enough horse power. this thing wont be able to run anything beyond games like WoW. i doubt it will have a GPU that is 1/3 as powerful as the m11x. i dont know why engadget praises it so much cause in my opinion its a good idea but not practical AT ALL.

Wish people would stop creating a new thread for this vaporware each time someone else finds out about it. There's already 2 or 3 threads going on in the gaming forum. Please use the search function.

    Intel Atom processor. Nuff said.

This thing doesn't even compete with the M11x.

"PC gaming has always been impossible in a portable form factor"

Welp, my M11x proves you wrong, buddy. And man, if you want a gaming PC, just get a desktop..

I still want one though. If Intel makes good on their Atom "App Store" promise, it could see some pretty cool spec-appropriate games made for the touch screen and LCD keyboard.

Just out of curiosity, where did that quote come from?

Because PC gaming has always been defined by the mouse and keyboard. To argue that PC gaming is available in a "portable" form factor really comes down to arguing what people consider "portable". Some people think 11.6" is portable, others do not.

I think the quote came from the dude talking in video. he was saying something generic so he could introduce his awesome new tiny portable keyboard and display. (sarcasm included)

You are so on target here... the keyboard functioning is a nice idea... but... I remain skeptical the device is little more than a marketing gimmick. If this actually takes off I will be surprised.

The touch screen and secondary LCD (the keys are clear and sit on a large secondary LCD) make it more like a Nintendo DS. :) If they wanted to, they could use the keyboard area for HUD info as well.

It's pretty interesting on it's own as a portable device for playing touch-screen games but they are positioning it as something it's not (competitor to gaming machines). If Intel's Atom "app store" takes off, they could have a lot of appropriate touch-screen games for it instead of watered-down games meant for higher-end systems.

Typical BS I've come to expect from Razer marketing. They over-emphasize or misrepresent an issue to make that issue look bigger than it really is. They basically "invent" a problem that you never had, so that they can sell you products to solve that problem.

This little quote of "PC gaming has always been impossible in a portable form factor" is just one of many examples. Among others:

    - Every wired Razer mouse will tout its gold-plated USB connector on its packaging. When has this ever been an issue? When have you ever used a mouse, and thought "You know, this mouse is pretty good, but it would be a lot better if the USB plug was gold-plated."

    - Razer Mamba inaccurately represents itself as the only mouse capable of 1000Hz / 1ms USB polling rates. They are just straight up deceiving you at this point.

Yes, I recall I posted there....

"Sheer Genius... That Opens the Door to Future Technology"

Not sure why, but that whole delivery and speech left me laughing....

And I replied with a clever quip, which unfortunately went with the rest of the thread. :p
