As stated I seem to be experiencing some window problems:
    winkey + tab isnt working
when you move the cursor over a minimized window there is no preview anymore
which pretty much means windows 7 aero is not working.

Whats strange is it was working before i changed my desk top backgrounds.

I tried using windows experience index to solve for the problem but it is not finding anything wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your start bar also grey? I had aero stop working a while ago and that's what happened to me. Have you tried actually reenabling aero? Having some more info would be very helpful.

First I would try going to control panel and type troubleshoot in the search bar and click it.

Now inside the search bar should have search troubleshooting. Type aero in there and click on it when it searches. See if that fixes it, and if it doesn't post any errors or anything you think would be relevant.

If that doesn't help you might try a system restore. Some other things you could try is making a new user account and seeing if it works on there. (this could mean your user account is corrupted) Or perhaps it's using the integrated card and toned down the aero effects for performance. (not sure if this would really happen) Once again without more info I can't really think of anything else.

When you changed your background, you didn't happen to use one of the themes in the 'Basic and High Contrast' category did you? Those themes disable aero.

Are you using "battery bar" by any chance? There is an option to "disable aero on low battery".

No I am not. I fixed the aero problem however created a new one in doing so.
I went to stardock and reverted back to windows theme then reapplied the alienware one but now the sign in screen shows as windows not alienware.

    any solutions? lol
