I Just recently installed dota 2 about 3 days ago and I was experiencing this problem ever since I tried every possible solution like Defragmenting, CCleaner (Registry), Freeing up some space for the HDD and even overclocking it doesn't seem to work (OC'd in BIOS) and no even if it wasn't overclocked it still happens. I tried upgrading my drivers an nvidia 335m gt but it didn't install it and I got to the part where I had to use system restore. It's kinda obvious in 38s-41s and in the last part. IT GETS TO THE POINT WHERE IT DOESN'T STOP DOING THAT LIKE EVERY 3 SECONDS PLEASE HELP! (battery performance on high and gpu settings maxed)

It kinda looks like your processor just isn't fast enough. Those are all pretty new games, and the R1 is the oldest of the M11x series. Which processor is yours runnning? Also adding RAM might help, but I wouldn't guarantee it as the CPU is the bottleneck for both the R1 and R2 (obviously less for the R2). You could also consider an SSD, although that's a very expensive solution for slightly faster loading. There are ways to mod the R1 (pinmod), but I wouldn't recommend it if you're not too experienced. Overall, I'd say just lower the settings in game a bit as your CPU probably isn't quite making it.

I agree to this, have you looked at the processor's temperature while gaming?

The micro stuttering is entirely normal on CPU intensive games such as LoL and DOTA2. I experienced it on my r1.

the m11x r1 has a core 2 duo @ 1.7 (oc'd via bios) with 4mb cache, which , although stressed out (100%) should barely be enough for DOTA 2 (4mb cache)

My r1 used to get really hot. I bought a can of pressurized air and dissembled it, even though there was no VISIBLE dust from the outside (or underside) inside there was a wall of dust preventing ventilation.

With a clean heatsync your temp should go down to a norm of 39 or 45 (stressed) (measured with speccy)

Now, the "struttering" you speak of I think is more related to drivers.

My m11x runs tombraider 2013 on mid settings just fine., however it strutters running UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3 (2007)

this is absurdly ridiculous, but true.

Depending on the video driver you are running, you might get struttering on some games. Sadly DELL SUCKS when it comes to driver support.

If you go to the official dell driver download page, the latest driver they have (that works) is from 2010. (R1)

You'd have to go through the bios, to disable the switchable graphics, then download the newest driver version from nvidia (2013). This will improve performance significantly on many games, but still is not 100% supported, so not ALL games will see a performance increase.

    - clean the heatsync, and when u willl see temp drop.

    - as for fps....... well sadly there's not much you CAN do, I changed to an SSD, (samsung 840pro series) and 8 gb ram (corsair vengeance), but didn't really help with fps.

Things load way faster, but that's about it.....

M11x should be a secondary machine.
