I currently have a m17xr2 to use for most of my gaming while at school. I was looking at getting the best buy version of the m11xr1. all I will be using it for would be my engineering math program (mathcad) and some casual wow playing (dailies and lvling) will this laptop get the job done?
I just can't keep carrying the m17x everywhere

I have my 335 gt underclocked to the maximum amount and play wow maxed even with the new settings. It's great.

don't get the best buy version, it has no bluetooth and $50-100 more expensive
With the same configuration like on bestbuy + bluetooth, it will cost u a total of $670 with the $200 dollar discount + $50 coupon. So get it at alienware brand new and you also get to customize the nameplate -
Yes. The Alienware M11x is intended to be a portable machine capable of pumping out some serious gaming performance for its size.
You might also want to check out the 11.6" and 13.3" MacBook Air laptops, as well as the HP Envy 14" laptop. The MacBook Air sacrifices some GPU power for a better screen and lighter weight. The HP Envy 14" is about 1lb heavier than the M11x, has an equivalently powered GPU, but has a better screen and an optical drive. All of those laptops cater to the people looking for portable gaming power, so they are worth checking out before making a purchase decision. -
WoW runs great on my M11x R1 with both the cpu and gpu not overclocked. I even do 10 man ICC with it like that with shadows on low and it doesn't slow down. Extremely portable gaming machine.
It's gonna tide me over till someone comes out with a <14" laptop with a better gpu (and maybe higher than 1366x768 reolution). -
I run wow maxxed out except for shadows and get ~60fps in northrend (varies obviously, but never dips below 40). The old kingdoms are often 100+ fps.

I thought about the macbook air but I,wasn't sure about them. anyone have ant experience getting a refurbished alienware from dell outlet?
-
I purchased a refurb r1 from dell outlet. It arrived in mint condition and plays wow flawlessly!

If you can wait..just buy a refurb M11x, configured how you want it. Save some money...buy a SSD or momentus xt 500 hybrid and you will easily have no problems playing WoW.
m11x r1 and wow
