    Hi everyone,

    I'm having audio trouble (m11x + hdtv). I know why the audio is not working, but to adjust that setting will make me have to reset up my ps3 and vcr. So I'm willing to spend money on a little bandaid that won't require me to mess with anything.

    In other words, I'm set on not messing up the tv.

    If I connect this usb side to my computer, and the rca adapter for audio into the front of the tv,

    Will I be able to get sound from the tv, or will it not deliver sound? (The video is already covered by the hdmi :D )

    Thanks

    Edit: Actually, I'm not sure if the above link item will work.. But I'm sure this will! http://www.amazon.com/PC-Cable-S-Video-3-5mm-Composite/dp/B001YK3Q1A/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_0_2

    Thoughts?

    Are you trying to get video and sound from your laptop to the TV or something completely different?

    Yes. The video is working, but the sound is not, but that isn't important. The reason why it's not working is because I have it set that way, to fix that would require me to tediously adjust that every time I want to connect my PC.

    So the hdmi is displaying the video, but I want to get an awkwardly strange sound adapter, like the one I linked above in red text to connect from my 3.5mm sound jack to the rca port of the tv.

    Hope that made sense. :cool:

    Is the TV going to play audio from RCA/AV when you are on the HDMI channel, or do you have a separate audio receiver?

    If it does, then the second cable, (just 3.5mm to RCA) would be fine.

    but if not then you will get audio only when you are on the AV channel and video only when you are on the HDMI channel.

    Yes! You got it!

    I want the tv to play audio from the RCA/AV, while having the hdmi for video. Will this cable work?

    So, about the channels? Typically the TV will not accept HDMI video and RCA audio at the same time.

    Well, honestly, I really don't know about the channels. I can only guess whether it can.

    But it does have the rca/av and hdmi holes for me to put wires in :D

    How can I know whether it can do both?

    Some TVs now let you assign the audio seperate from the HDMI.
    What type of TV is it,Brand,Model?

    Also are you trying to get the same audio as the HDMI video or do you want different audio?

    OK,now I am confused?

    How exactly is the video connected to the TV right now?

    This set does not have an HDMI input according to the link you provided?
    So if you are connected in any way other than HDMI you will never get audio without discrete audio connections.

    Any other connections for A/V input to the TV should have jacks that pair some kind of Video connection with some kind of Audio connection,so you either need to use those paired connections or assign an audio input to a video input through the TV menu system.

    Does this make sense?

    I have a converter to make it work for HDMI. I forgot to mention that. I think it was a DVI to HDMI converter.

    I had to buy one to work with my ps3. :)

    The TV has ports for rca and s-video all over this thing. lol

    Let me know if you have any othyer questions

    OK

    First of all,you must be using HDMI to VGA? I didn't see a DVI connection on the TV?

    But if there is a DVI input there will be RCA audio connections for it too.

    For each Video input on the TV there should be some Red/White RCA jacks for audio that go with the video input you are using.

    All you need is a Mini plug to RCA cable available anywhere for cheap to plug into those RCA jacks.

    Is this how it is?

    Nope, there is a DVI port on the back of the tv. I'm looking right at it. I got a DVI -> HDMI adapter for my ps3 to be able to connect to it, sir :)

    And yes you are right! there are RCA connections.

    I'll be connecting the HDMI for video. And I want to connect RCA for sound.

    ~~~~~
    Oh, I see what you are saying. I'll be looking at these then, correct?
    3.5mm jack with RCA on the other end?
    Exactly
    Those should do it.
    The only Video connection that also provides an audio signal is HDMI.
    Since you are not using HDMI all the way through you can not be getting the audio from it.
    DVI is Video only.
    So that cable should let you connect the headphone jack from the computer to the TV RCA input for the DVI video.
    I don't know where you are located but they really do have the audio cable everywhere for under $5.00 or so if you don't want to wait.
    Walmart,Radio Shack,Target....
    Good Luck
