Hey anyone experienced an intermittent problem with their m11x turning itself off or going into sleep mode at random intervals?

Mine started doing it yesterday, I have no idea what so ever what might be causing it, any ideas?

Are you doing anything on the m11x when this happens or is it just sitting idle?

It happened twice while turning it on, it sat turning on and turning off again for about a minute.

It happened twice while just browsing the internet with Firefox 4 and once while in the middle of trying to play COD : Black ops.

    Wonder if its gpu related...

How long apart were the occurrences? When it shuts down, does it do the whole "Windows is shutting down" thing or just turn off? Also were you on the battery or plugged in when it occurred?

The one's it's done on boot were one after the other for about 5 minutes then it went back to being as stable as a rock

then the others were quite far apart, a few hours or so.

When it happens the screen goes off, and the lights stay on for about 30s then it turns off and refuses to turn back on for a couple of minutes.

All occurrences have been whilst on battery.

You might want to check the connection to the battery to see if it is loose.

Just wanted to chime in, I have the exact same problem. Started yesterday. It only occurs when I attempt to play games on my lap though (plugged or unplugged, doesn't matter). It's the strangest behaviour I've ever encountered tbh.

I've had the same issue, only occurs after a while of gaming at 76 degrees gpu temp on battery only. Doesn't matter what cpu settings I'm at or what gpu settings I'm at, the gpu hits 76 downclocks itself and a minute or two later bam it either shuts itself off instantly or ocasionally throws a bsod. Being plugged in it hasn't happened once.
