I overclocked my gpu earlier, and it seems very stable, but I wanted to make sure if anyone thought otherwise.

    oc cpu 164
    gpu 570/1366/920

I see the gpu temp maxing around 64 or 65C. Is that okay?

If you can play Crysis without artifacts or it crashing then its ok.

    Cyrsis on medium/high setting

    M11xR1 SU7300 OC'd 4GB RAM NIVIDIA 197.72(Dell) OC'd

    GPU 571/1370/871

    GPU Min Temp 44C
    GPU Max Temp 54C

I've seen my GPU at 59C so a Max of 65C probably isn't to high.

My Tosh Laptop CPU has been operating at a max of 75C for four years so the odd bit of gaming up to 65C shouldn't hurt.

Hey Tk, what are you using to OC your GPU? I tried Rivatuner, but it wouldn't work properly with the 335m.

EVGA Precision is a popular tool. You can also use Nvidia Sys Tools.

Cool, thanks! Does the 335m overclock well? My m11x gets a little hot when using the stock Dell "overclock" option for the processor in the bios. (Usually under the left palm rest near where the memory is at gets the hottest.) Does anyone think that might be some kind of problem?

Wow you guys have good cores. Mine must be a dud. It can only do 525/1225/925. EVGA Precision works perfectly.

Reports from people who have redone TIM on theirs have been pretty lukewarm. Not any appreciable drop in temps. Notebook coolers on the other hand have a much more favorable impact.

I have run crysis CPU benchmark overnight and CPu temps hit 79C and GPU temps hit 74C. These chips are rated at 100C+ so im sure its fine I dont know why people are concerned with temperatures. These temperatures are VERY GOOD!

p.s. this is with GPU+CPU OC.

Just a point I'd like to make.

If we were discussing a desktop, then people over clocking and making hard use of their PCs would be looking at extra cooling adoptions.

I would not expect the M11x to run cool, especially under load and especially if OCed. If you are going to do this then I would recommend reading the thread on coolers.

    Using an M11xR1 SU7300 OC'd 4GB RAM nVidia 197.72 (Dell) OC'd BIOS A01
    GPU 570/1425/910 using EVGA Precision

Powering on my M11xR1 the CPU was 21C and my GPU was 25C

Repeatedly running the Crysis bench test over half an hour I could only get my GPU up to 49C.

Note - You do get, on average, an extra 2 FPS when OC'd in Crysis my result have shown.

Even ran 3DMark06 with GPU OC'd and that maxed at 50C.

I think the highest I've ever seen the GPU temperature get on my M11xR1 (SU7300) was 59C.

Buy an M11xR1 and you to can have "Good Cores".

As previously stated the temperature on an M11xR1 can be ignored and probably just a source of amusement on the M11xR2.

I can confirm the lights do go out when the fridge door is shut. :D

When I tried Precision the synth bench actually lowered so I removed it. Not sure what was wrong.
