    m11x core i7 640UM weak?

    For the money that they are asking for the core i7 model, I honestly don't think the processor should be one that is weaker than even the i5 520M. I wish they wouldn't fit the m11x with such disappointingly low end processors. Compare IntelĀ® Products,

    If you can think of a better processor with the same power limits, I'm sure Alienware would love to know what it is.

    The M11x uses an i5 520UM, which runs at 1.066 GHZ with 1.866 GHz Max Turbo Frequency, not the 520M or E in that link. If you want more power, you should wait for the rumored R3 with will likely come with more powerful Sandy Bridge CPUs.

    He's referring to a different class of processors all together. The i-series processors in the M11x are ultra low voltage so they can't be compared to other laptops' i-series processors in the same manner. That's why the M11x gets 4+ hours of real-world battery life whereas similarly spec'd larger laptops barely get 2.
