I got my m11x r3 in april 2012. I love this laptop. It's nice to be able to play wow and d3 anywhere I go. It's super fast and does everything I need it to do.

Except...... I did a restore a few days back (using alienrespawn) and I was looking for the Portal game. I never registered it when I got it because I still had it on my xbox. I gave my xbox to my little bro and now I want to play Portal on my m11x and.... I can't find the game. I see the steam icon on the desktop I sign into my account and I don't see Portal in my list of games.

I thought restoring it to the factory image would mean I get everything put back on it. So where did Portal go? I guess if I lost it for good I'll just pick it up when it's on sale again. I just think I am missing something.

The option was to include Portal as an installed game on your PC, i don't think it ever mentioned anything about actually giving a copy of the game to you. Portal has also been offered for free on several occasions from Steam.

You used Respawn, did you use your flash media backup or the respawn partition on the HDD?
