Currently while gaming my m11x R2 (i7 Version with my own added SSD) overheats so badly that it turns off.

This happens ESPECIALLY in League of Legends which I play most. The ONLY way to make it not overheat to the point of turning off is to hand the fan side over the edge of a table/desk to allow maximum air flow.

Initially I thought it was the overclocking but after turning the i7 down to base clock it still turns off. And yes, sitting on a WOODEN table or HARD desk that is perfectly flat does not prevent it from overheating.

    Also...

The hinge problem that everyone is talking about I may have but I'm not sure. Currently the screen (because the hinge seems a little collapsed) can be tilted to the non supported hinge. This has caused the LCD screen to have marks on it where the keys from the keyboard are because one side lays on the keys (uneven). Is this the common problem that everyone talks about?

Clean out your fans to fix the over heating.

    Call dell for the hinges.

Dell will fix the hinges even if you are not under warranty.
