I know its been a while, and I know it cannot be done with the fn+f2, but I heard it can be done in the bios, is this true? how would I be able to do this? I plan on traveling soon and might be spending alot of time gaming on my machine, would rather have it plugged in and not effect the battery.

    nvm, found it.

    Yes [maybe no]

Enter BIOS Utility <F2> at startup and disable battery charging.
It's located on the third screen (If I remember correctly).

Using the original A01 BIOS you are not able to maintain the disabled battery charging state on the next system startup.

You'll need to install an upgraded BIOS to maintain the battery charging state on the next system startup.

Not sure you can disable the battery from being used when no DC power available from the BIOS other than physically removing the battery.

Not quite sure what you're attempting to do now that I read your question.
