My LCD screen is black, my screen could only be seen under lighting. but very very very dim. I seen videos on youtube about this problem, they remount the graphic card back on to the motherboard. I now have my m11x display on an external monitor...it's getting annoying because it's no longer mobile. I was told NOT to heat the graphic's card back to the MB, because I could display it on external monitor. I did turn up the brightness...not working Im running out of options. and I have no warranty.

it actually sounds more like your backlight is out. this would have nothing to do with your graphics card. the backlight is the "light bulb" that shines light thru the back of your LCD and make the picture brighter and visable.
IMO from reading your post i would get a new LCD assembly or backlight and replace the bad part. -
A lot of people are saying it's a virus...the Cam and alienware lighting still works
-
if I were to get new LCD cables, would that work?
-
Your webcam and AlienFX lighting have nothing to do with video output.
Who's saying this is a virus? I suppose it couldn't hurt to run a malwarebytes and superantispyware scan, but I'm skeptical that it's malware that causing output to your display to be so dim.
Replacing your cables isn't going to do you any good.
Is output dim when you boot into safe-mode? -
I can not see the Bios, I get visual at the login screen only on a external monitor.
-
I forgot to mention that this is also the case of a a hedge problem...the hedge mightve tore the LCD cable
-
I would have to agree with slickie that as long as you can see the images on the screen, although dim, and it works on an external monitor that it would be your backlight.
-
Unless the op is describing the problem wrong, I have to agree with back light issue.
Don't forget to never to ask who suggested its virus ever again.
Call the warranty support and stop wasting your own time. -
I called to alienware and told them my situation and they are going to repair it. But I am NOT under warranty, they are going to fix my hedge and replace the LCD screen. I wished I couldve fixed it myself so in case this happens in the future I know what to do.
