Got sick of the 6 foot long cable for my mouse, since my m11x is usually sitting right next to the mouse I hacked up the cable and made it about 20 inches long... perfect!

Yeah, that's one of several reasons I bought a Razer Orochi. That mouse should come standard with this laptop, IMO!

    The cord conversion looks great.

A simple method is to utilize those things that come with bread but you never re-use them and it pisses your wife off. You know the old BREAD-SPIN-TUCK method. You always have a left over bread tie and you just use that for the extra cordage.

Again your method is much cleaner and neater. It does look great!

I used a rubber band and just wrapped the wire into a small bundle, but the fabric cover on the mouse cable started to stretch on the corners and the bare wire would come out. It looked really bad. This only took me a few minutes to change to the small wire.

It looks good, I just got a tactx mouse and the cord is too long for a laptop. Did you disassemble the mouse to do this? If so, how does it come apart?

My X5 Sidewinder has a beast of a cord. And so does my Headset. I'm pretty sure the long cord is to ensure that the desktop users won't be complaining because of a tiny cord.

Under the skid pads on the bottom of the mouse are small screws, 2 on the bottom, 2 on the top, and 1 on the left side (thumb side)

You can call dell and get new ones, or just push the screw driver threw the pads like I did.
