Is there a list of newer drivers and where to find them? I went to the Alienware site and seems what's there is on the m11X.

For example, there's been talk of a new Synaptics driver. Where can this be found and what is the version.

I just dont want to go off looking for new drivers and install with fingers crossed. If someone has more specific details or successes they can share that would be most appreciated.

This isn't such a bad question, for all the new m11x owners could there be a guide for what to install when you get the m11x to get optimal performance?

Also on another note, I've read that the recovery CD provided with the m11x doesn't bring the laptop back in it's original state (with the alienware logo's and drivers and stuff...)

If I made a recovery CD using Dell Datasafe Local Backup would that solve the problem and give me the alienware logo's and drivers?

The "recovery" CD is simply just the Win7 install disk, nothing more, nothing less.

All drivers (approved by Dell) are available via http://support.dell.com

The Cyberlink Cam software is available via http://smartsource.dell.com

Backgrounds and Avatars - see the link listed in my sig.

McAfee - not sure - I use Microsoft Security Essentials.

There is an "unsupported" set of NVidia Drivers available referred to as Dox Drivers that have been used with some success by members of this forum.

Thanks BatBoy, that'll come in handy. Supposedly there are more up to date drivers?

To be honest - I'm not sure. I didn't really bother considering that this laptop has such a minimal re-install anyway. After the Win 7 install - it's really only about 20-30 minutes to install the drivers, software, and backgrounds/avatars.

Are the most recent drivers and BIOS included when you purchase the laptop?
