is my m11x using gpu acceleration?

sorry for the vague title, but i downloaded adobe's beta flas software (10.1), in the hopes that the cpu wouldn't be taxed so much when watching bbc iplayer HD (it's encoded with h.264 nowadays)

but whenever i play something in iplayer in HD, it skips and stutters (nothing to do with my bandwidth, too)

i looked at the cpu usage windows gadget and both cores were maxed 100% (near enough).

i took a look at gpu-z's gpu usage meter, and that was only hovering between 3% and 7%. the same as when the computer is idling.

do i need any other software to enable gpu acceleration? i keep thinking about purevideo HD, and looking at that price tag and thinking "no, doubt i'd need that", but now i'm not sure anymore.

i was getting the same stuttering on my macbook (bootcamped and under OSX), but at that time beta adobe flash wasn't out, so i couldn't try it out on that.

 

If you are using the default drivers, then that is why. From what I read online, the default drivers are 188.x and don't support hardware acceleration. You have to use the beta 197.x drivers on Dell's driver support page for the M11x. These supposedly support flash hardware acceleration.

 

i'm using 197.12, have been for about 3 weeks now
