Has anyone upgraded their stock dell wifi card to one of these?
If so, have you noticed a difference in distance?
In my school the range kinda sucks so I'm hoping one of these could make a difference.
I nabbed one on newegg for 20 bucks cause of some sale.

I put one it, Huge change in signal.

I put in the weaker 5100, and the major things I noticed:
better signal reception vs the stock dell card (in my room, I can get 3 bars vs 1-2 bars - same area, same walls, same air temp, humidity [if my wall clock is to be believed]).
reliability. The stock dell card had a tendancy of dropping the connection every few min (bad signal reception?), while the Intel 5100 doesn't.
connection consistancy. One strange thing I noticed in steam, while downloading, was the download speed history bar graph. While on the Intel card, it would be a flat 1.1MBps (~10mbits). While on the stock dell card (broadcom?) it would look like a rollar coaster or a sin/cos wave varying consistantly, and endlessly, between 300KBps and 700KBps or so.
intel 6200 half-mini wifi card?
