Hi, I just bought a 160GB Intel SSD (great price on ebay for a G2, rep seller). Anyway I read that you can make an ISO of the Dell DVD and use a jump drive to install windows. Can you also do this with an SD card, either through the card reader or by using a USB device that the SD card slides into?

I just got my MX11 last night and love it so far, my wife actually likes the design too (so do I, not sure why so many people don't) but anyway this morning I quickly turned DA origins into a ISO, put it on a SD card and popped it in, I had to download the slysoft drive emmulator for it to work and didn't have time to actually install it but it appeared to work fine.

So my other question on top of can I use the SD card (I am thinking I can if I use the USB attachment instead of the reader) will the computer read the ISO as a CD from boot up or do I have to do something other than just creating an ISO from the disc?

I am extremely experienced with computers have been building my own and overclocking since I was 16 (14 years ago  ) but I have actually never owned a laptop until now and my only experience of dealing with ISO images is putting movies onto my external HDs for use with WD live.

    Thanks in advance

If you follow the procedure of prepping a SD card with the same procedure you would prep a USB stick I see no problems in booting from it with a USB SD reader.

You could try using the Windows USB ISO tool to make the SD Card bootable, but it may or may not work. I would suggest using USB over SD personally
