    Ok I got a intel ssd g2,

    1. How do switch all my stuff from my hdd to the ssd.
    2. does the alienware disk just install windows or drivers to, if not where do I get those
    3. Do I need to instal drives for the ssd, never used one before.
    4. will I notice a difference from a 7200rpm hdd.

    thanx

    1. You will need a USB to SATA adaptor. You can get a cheap enclosure for a few $ on ebay.
    2. You will need to download drivers even with the alienware disk.
    3. Did you mean drivers? If so no, but make sure you get the chipset/storage controller drivers.
    4. A massive difference.

You could also place your files on an external hd or thumb drive (depending on size).. and use that as a back up.. You will see a big difference in the speed and boot up times are amazing.. I don't believe you will need any software for the intel G2s.. I have a 160GB in my wifes R1 and it work with the alienware disc with no extra drivers required.. Also i have never successfully cloned an SSD from a regular HD so that option is out unless some one else has the reason they always blue screen once installed.. My guess is the original installation was without trim support and probably a few other reasons.. But good luck with you new SSD you will love it.. even though you may run out of space.. like I did even with a 256GB only 40GB left
