I am having a helluva time getting my M11x-r2 to connect to my iPhone via Bluetooth. It is enabled in Bios and all that. Every once in a while it will pick the phone up but will quickly fail. The iPhone never finds my laptop in discovery.
I have no other BT devices to try something else.

Anyone else have success with iPhone?

(Dell wireless device 365 Bluetooth module)

Took me a few tries to get it to pick up the Iphone the first time, once it WAS detected, it was all good. Have used it many times since and the tethering always works fine.

Does your phone have a yellow icon with an exclamation mark in it in the discovered devices?

I also had problems but re booted phone checked codes were the same and it did show connected, but I had the yellow exclamation mark, and it said it needed trouble shooting and that it could not find the bluetooh peripheral device driver.
I followed this guide I found and now all seems fine. Bluetooth Peripheral Device Driver

Still a shame you cant share files from iphone 4 and PC this way, maybe Ibluetooth from cydia does I may try that

    hope this helps

After 100 or so attempts I finally got the iPhone to connect to my laptop only to get the peripheral device driver error.

Thanks for the link sagman, but it looks like the download for the drivers have been removed by Microsoft for some reason. This might get me going in the right direction.

Jeez I thought the whole idea og Bluetooth was to make things simpler. What a joke. Anything and everything I've ever had that was Bluetooth was a PITA!

when you go into bluetooth options on the laptop, enable "discovery by other devices" or whatever, it's near the top

I'm not on my alienware atm but when I enabled that I never had a problem connecting my phone to bluetooth

Right clicked my iPhone in connected devices window.
    Clicked on properties.
    Clicked on services tab.
    Unchecked Wireless iAP.
I left both "Audio source" & "Remotely Controllable Device" checked.

Now I have no yellow/exclamation mark icon and the iPhone is connected via BT.

That's how I got the yellow mark off as well (sorry didn't respond sooner, least you figured it out :) ) Took me awhile to find that out, and was annoying to me (still worked just hate seeing the, "Fault" triangle.
