    Hello Everybody!
Still experimenting with my M11x (haven't had it very long). One thing that is discouraging is my iPhone will not tether with this machine. I have two HP's (Vista 32 bit & Win7 64 bit) both these machines tether with no problems. With the M11x, I cant get the machine to "hook up" with the tether. All the settings are the same.
Has anybody got some tricks to get their phones to tether with the M11x?
    Thanks
    Charles

I tether my HTC HD7 on T-mobile and it works great. Even quick enough for online gaming.

Tethering the HD7 was a giant trick. I had to set up the connection, manually set up all the dialing specs, force HTC modem drivers, have an unlocked developer unit HD7, and install a custom program onto the HD7.

Well worth it in the end.

My Motorola atrix tethers fine with my m11x r2 :)

But it does have a couple connecting problems at first but just have to connect too it couple times and works perfect.

But i don't blame the m11x for that the atrix has some bugs too get worked out.

I have no problems tethering mine.

I use the iPhone 4 (jailbroken 4.2.1) and MyWi USB tethering, however bluetooth and WiFi tethering work too.

I'm reluctant to try and jail break (because I dont know anything about it) because I can tether on my other two computers; just not the M11x. So, if it doesn't work on the M11x, then it still may not work after I jailbreak and use My
Wi...which means I'll loose my tethering ability on my two HP's...that's why I'm hesitant to try it.
    Decisions, Decisions...

Is it that the iphone or the m11x R2 don't detect eachother?

Cause that happens to me all the time... it's really annoying.

My "unfortunate solution": Re-install iOS from fresh on the iPhone, then sync the devices via bluetooth and from then on you should not have any problems.. unless you reformat your PC then you'll prob have to do the same.

If you want I can guide you through a jailbreak, it's very simple and honestly... there is no harm unless you go installing stuff before reading or have any clue about.

Thanks so much for everybody's help
When I tether with the two HP's, the tether begins immediately; the computers recognize the iPhone and the tether. With the M11x, nothing happens, the computer does recognize the iPhone, just not the tether...it's dead. I'm using tether software which does not require a jailbreak; however, the flip side of that is I must remain on a very old 3.0 version on iPhone...which is the version way back before the iPhone was able to text pictures! I believe 3.1 is when iPhone 3G started being able to text pictures...needles to say, I'm light years behind on my updates.
I have unlocking software already downloaded to my computer from "iPhone Unlock.org" My iPhone is a 3G.
I have a Paunage folder set up on my desktop with an isp file to update to 4.2 iPhone version and 6.5 iPad baseband and redsn0w all ready to go which apprently will also install Cydia on the springboard. the problem is I have cold feet...I'm scared!

My Nokia N8 uses Jokuspot to make my N8 a hotspot. I don tether I just use wifi. Since its an unlocked phone I only pay $9.99 and get damn near 4G speed.

This is the primary argument I used with my wife to be able to buy my m11x.

    I showed her:

TMobile Family ------------------------------- ATT iPhone Family
    1500 min $59 ------------------------------- 1400 min $89
    unlim data 2 lines $20 --------------------- 2GB data per line 2 lines $50
    unlim text 2 lines $20 --------------------- unlim text 2 lines $30

    Total $100 ------------------------------------ Total $170
    2 Years $2400 ------------------------------------ 2 Years $4080

This $1680 difference paid for my m11x and some.

Btw, the N8 has hspa capabilities on ATT and on TMobile.

Do you Have Itunes installed? if you don't have Itunes it will not teather. I use my Iphone 3gs Jailbroken 4.2 ios and it works perfectly fine.. i teather through USB and it detects it every time and it works right away. Its not the M11x fault if it detects the iphone.

    Umm...
OK, I have absolutely no Earthly idea what I did, but this thing is now tethering!!
All I did was cuss a lot, throw the phone across the room (sorry kitty), plugged it into iTunes probably a jillion times...it now tethers to my M11x!
So now the question is: Do I go ahead and jailbreak it so I can get to a newer firmware, instead of the 3.0 I'm currently on? Kind of leaning towards not doing anything as it is tethering now. I wonder what happened?
Only tethers via USB, no bluetooth.

So I get this nice text message from AT&T telling me if I dont stop tethering, they will take away my unlimited data plan and begin charging me $45 for 4GB of data on their tether plan. Anybody else got this message?

Everyone that is tethering without a plan on AT&T (Well, almost everyone) has got that message. Pay for it, or drop it.
