i just reinstalled the graphics card since the fn+f6 (switch) did not work anymore.
but now dxdiag shows that the card only has 472mb of memory, and the integrated intel card has around 1.6GB.

a week ago (before reinstall) the switch worked just fine and the card showed 2.2GB in dxdiag.

any way how i can see if the problem lies with dxdiag or the drivers/card?

Well I've never checked how much VRAMs I have by looking at dxdiag.

In order to check the VRAM, I right-clicked the desktop, selected Change Screen resolution, and then clicked the little Advanced Settings link. Then I closed the window, pressed the fn+f6 switch, and did it again.

Oh, and note whether it's reporting in MB or GB.

    ahh i see.

strangely (and lucky), it shows a true value.
now it is 1.6GB on intel and (total) 4.5GB on Nvidia
it sound a lot, but consider that 3.5GB is shared.

also, it says Nvidia card is 1GB so the drivers do their job just fine.
    thanks for helping!
