Have any of you guys tried out the new game booster beta(version 2.0)? I have been using version 1.0 and loved it. I'm wondering if I have to remove the old version first before downloading, and also what peoples opinions are?
Thanks in advance

You use it on your m11x?
Do you see much performance increase? I used to use it on my old computer but I didn't think I would need it on this monster of a machine -

Gamebooster should be a part of any pc that's utilized for gaming. It stops unnecessary processes/services and identifies start-up items that can be stopped. I utilize it everyday.
To the OP, give it a try and communicate results please.

Any actual performance difference in numbers?

I dont have numbers... and probably wont for the m11x. I would utilize a benchmark that's repeatable. In game performance increases may be even better. Best Wishes, Steven

Apropos of nothing...I had a funny thing happen today with Game Booster; I turned it on for Dragon Age and it made the Dragon Blood armor disappear on one of my companions who was wearing it and he was suddenly totally naked (except for a pair of white briefs)! Hilarious.

For the folks that want to try it, you dont need to. It's almost useless. It turns off services that has no affect whats so ever on games or your system generally. It's just a useless tool with pretty interface that does things you can do yourself with a few clicks. It actually made me lose few hundreds points in 3DMARK06 score.

Fewr Services and processes running will not decrease your 3dmark score... the fact that you are benching against 3dmark06 is part of the problem. I can run it 4 times in a row and get 4 completely different scores.
The goal, for a gaming machine, should always be to run with as few processes and services as needed to keep system resources available for the game and supporting items such as (video, sound, etc...)
If you feel gamebooster itself is hogging the resources, simply set the priority to LOW.

From my experience with the Intel 9xx SSF group (used to be called the Intel 9xx gamers, or something similar before Intel tried litigation...).
Gamebooster doesn't help. At least, not enough for our poor, poor GMA 950.

I use two different startup configurations, one for gaming, which pretty much shuts down everything i don't need running, (and i will tell you that for win7 pro, is a TON). I don't know how extensive game booster's 'pruning' is, but I can tell you that if you are meticulous and know what you are doing, the increase in real world fps can be dramatic. Every clock cycle that goes to running a non essential service, can be one more cycle available for fragging your buddy. For really big increases tho, you need to know how to reset system caching for your particular game, and I doubt that any generic system pruner like game booster addresses that issue.
