    Noob here, just wanted to confirm that the integrated graphics does not allow an external monitor on the HDMI port...can only do that when Discrete is enabled???? For non critical video, I thought it would be nice to just use the Intel... R1 here...love it! :)

    You are correct. I have been able to use VGA monitors with the Intel, but DisplayPort works only with nVidia. I have read that HDMI is the same, and I think you've just confirmed it.

    I have noticed that the hdmi port only seems to use the nvidia gpu when connected. It seems to automatically default to that for external monitor connections. I have not tried the other ports, nor have I tried fiddling with settings as when I am hooked up to an external monitor I want performance, not battery power.
