I think Diablo 2 has some issues when run on anything higher than Win XP, there maybe a fix out there. Try running in XP sp3 compatibility mod
some links;
Battle.net - English Forums -> Windows Vista/7 and Diablo II
post#9 off this link may work too;
Problems running Diablo II w/ LOD expansion -
let me know if it works ; )

nope i got nothing. all i get is a little part of the blizzard logo but then it freezes and the sound continues and by the time it gets to the main menu its black

Best bet might be to Google your problem. They might have it in a forum somewhere.

ok here is how to play it right click on the diablo .exe on the desktop. go to properties
under the shortcut tab there will be a section called "target:"
it wil have the whole program/diablo/ thing and at the very end put -w
make sure there is a space then -w it will run fine just not full screen
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w -
so i speent a ton of time trying to figure out how to get it in full screen but no luck, it runs great with the tip i posted above but its just not full screen

I gave up trying to run Diablo2 months ago on Win7. Dont seem to have a solution on Blizzard website.

I play Diablo 2 in a XP vm (with VMware Workstation 7.1), full screen, no problems. I even have the high res hack. Download VMware Server (it's free) and try it, but Workstation has better support for 3D/DirectX.
cant run diablo 2?
