Considering the details of AW13 I would suggest to buy something else like MSI GS30 or Gigabyte or else.

neither are what I would call a photoshop machine unless it is basic edits and more hobbyist.

as for alternatives I am not too good on the 13and 14" side. But two great units in the 15" range for Adobe CS/CC is the Precision M3800 and M4800. much better screen gamut and accuracy plus a few other side benefits. ( even make the rMBP look pretty sad in comparison )

Too bad pal. you're out of luck rather like me.
If you only game occasionally and not the latest games at Ultra settings. Don't do too muc hcpu intensive tasks and heavy multitasking with browsers full of 20 tabs or something. And you like the size of the alienware 13. Only then an alienware 13 is suited for you.

Otherwise an alienware 14 is a great machine on which I have been waiting an update for, for a long time. but there is no news weather it will come back and how it will come back.

I would suggest you use a desktop as a primary workhorse, but if mobility is a necessity, I'd go for an Asus G46. They're still very solid machines even after being out for upwards of a year and you can typically get one for a decent price, definitely far less than the cost of a new Alienware 13.

Given that both the Canadian and American Alienware websites seem to no longer list the 14, the question is kind of moot.

Both list three laptops only - 13, 17, and 18.

What is wrong with the new aw13? So none of them are suitable for every day use or? I take photos alot and edit it on Photoshop using my aw11x. Iam just looking for replacement laptop. For on the go editing for my photos and slight gaming. My desktop is my main work force. But I can Carry it around.

If you want an Alienware 13, then go get it. It'll be a step up from your m11xR2. I'd recommend at least the 1080p screen.
All of the configs practically cost the same in the US. However, you can only have either 2 M.2 SSDs or 1 HDD/regular SSD in the 13 (I have no idea why), so if storage is a problem (unless you have an external drive), getting a different laptop may be ideal.

it has ULV processor. It has mediocre for nowadays GPU. Other laptops had it half a year ago already.

The AW13 is an upgrade in every way from the OP's 11. Even the 11 has a ulv processor.

To the OP, just get the AW13 with the 1080p display. Everything else is pretty much standard, 8gb ram, i5 ulv cpu, 860m cpu, 1tb hdd, etc.

It'll be a nice upgrade from your 11 and be similar to your 11.

what's the point of upgrading for2.5k$ if you immediately will need an upgrade of that upgrade? If it was for 1000$ I would say go for it!

    I vote AW14. The AW13's CPU it's a non-sense for a gaming Pc.

There is nothing wrong with the new 13s. What I was getting at is that the laptop I mentioned is a smarter choice price-wise as well as a step up in performance from your M11x while still being easily portable. If you wish to get an Alienware 13, do so. It'll serve you just as well as the one I suggested, albeit at a higher price.

Are you referring to the AW13? If so, it is not $2.5...It starts at $999. With the 1080p screen it can be had for $1,149.99

The moderators really need to delete posts like this - trolling the forums these days to self-justify a personal purchase is a bit silly.

It's really an apples to oranges comparison due to the cost and specs.
