So here we go, which out of the two is better overall for WoW and fps when it comes to 25 man raids, high populated cities, etc.

    1. M11X R1, Intel Core2duo, 4gb ram, 160gb Hard drive
    OR
    2. M11X R2 , I5 processor, 4gb ram, 250gb hard drive?

I just want to see what most of the forum says which is better for WoW so i can finally purchase my m11x based on this.

How do you not determine this by yourself?

With the 2 you have listed, tell yourself which CPU is better?

I mean, obviously, it would be 2 assuming they're the same GPU. Isn't this obvious?

The issue with the R2 was the driver. For instance right now the 260.99 and 267.76 drivers run my wow on high/ultra around 100fps but the 270.xx drivers do not even run wow.

R2 has little to no problems anymore... I don't play the life consuming game myself but I know it plays at Highest settings during action fine, assuming you have it configured properly.

    Bolted for WIN! HAHA! :p

And to the OP, R2 of course.

There's plenty of YT videos showing ingame performance on both the R1 and R2 you can view too :)

The R2 will get better FPS, especially with an overclock. Both will run at max settings. The R2 still has optimus driver issues with the new water and sunshaft effects (no such problems on the R1). I do 10m/25m raiding on the R2 and it's smooth as butter. Can't speak for the R1, but others here have reported its fine for raiding.

Speaking as a previous R1 owner, it handles both raids just fine unless they encounter heavy graphics such as the old VoA where there was a large amount of AoE. Still playable but itd dip around 10-15fps on the R1. While the R2 keeps about 20-25 in the same scenario (on high/ultra)

Is the driver problem a big issue? What do you need to do in order to fix i? And by any chance, do you have a vid of you running WoW, just wondering..

I am pretty sure the latest driver fixes all previous issues as most people are still using 260.99 which has the issues described above.
If anything you can use the Dell 257.30 drivers that are assured by Dell to run every game fine, however you will get less FPS.

i play WoW on my R2, and i can say i have experienced the BSOD two times so far during instances. Im not sure if its my drivers or what. Other then that, the game runs great for me. maybe it was just a two time thing with it happening (hope so). im no techy though.

No it doesn't. Sunshafts and water effects haven't been fixed yet.

To the OP, the driver issue is not a big problem. You just have to live with sunshafts turned off and water set to a lower quality. Not a big deal.

I have the R2 (i7) and chose it for the CPU advantage but you only notice better frames when the "4 cores" are utilized.. Not sure if WoW does that as I said before I do not play the life consuming game, however I can speak from games like BC2 and there IS a significant difference between R1 and R2, and now with the release of the R3's you have an even more of a performance boost but the question you should be asking is whether the performance increase is ratio to the price cost which for the R3 I do not believe it to be so (R1 = $600, R2 = $~900, R3 = $~1100) And now, at least in Canada, you cannot buy either the R1 or R2 from Dell's website anymore

So the drivers are not such a big problem at it seems? and r3 is a 1000, while the r2 with i5 in dell outlet, you could get from 600-700. If i could get the r1 for around 500 or the r2 for 600, which is worth to get??

For $100 more the r2 is a no brainer.
