So purchased this on the steam deals and I'm having zero luck getting it to work.

Tried both 265.90 and 260.99 official set and no joy. Initially it will claim my system does not meet the min spec followed by the witcher.exe executable crashing.

Tried various suggestions on forums I've and no joy. Anyone else had any success with this game?

    Running win7 x64 ultimate.

    Cheers, Paul.

I've actually just finished the game yesterday on my R2. There were numerous crashes along the way. My drivers are official 260.99.

First of all, make sure that your Witcher is whitelisted in the nVidia control panel and is updated to 1.5. I do know that the enhanced version is 1.4 something so you might have to manually update it to the latest version. I believe you can grab the patch from their website.

Once that is done starting should not be an issue but do make sure to save often as the game has a tendency to crash OFTEN...

Have a good one, other from crashes its a wonderful game.

You must have the patience of a saint. I gave up and finished it on my gaming rig.

That's weird, I'm running it fine besides a bout of instant CTD upon loading a save. That was fixed by verifying the game files through steam and turns out some 2+gb file got corrupted. Just finished ACT I and going through ACT II right now with no issues since then.

Running 260.99 with my R2 from my sig.

Well, reinstalled 260.99 drivers - Re-verified gamefiles and whitelisted 3 main executables (launcher.exe, djinni!.exe and witcher.exe) and it is now working fine!

Unsure what went on there but cheers :)

    Paul.

Has anyone managed to get AlienFX support working? Witcher EE is meant to have AlienFX effects but doesn't do anything on my R2 (AlienFX controller is running and 3rd-party support active). Have tried replaceing the LightFX.dll file in the witcher subdirectory to no avail.

Edit: With the original LightFX.dll file (clearly replacing it was barking up the wrong tree) I get a Witcher/AlienFX log file in the users/appdata directory that says "No LightFX compatibile devices are present on this system."

We're talking Witcher 1 enhanced edition via Steam ? I played hours of that on my R3 w/ no crashes.

To be honest I don't really like the game.

I thought the repetitive character models, crappy combat, and so-so story was nothing great. Pretty over rated game in my book.
