So I've been using these windex wipes on my screen daily for the past week:

Then I stumbled across an article that says using any ammonia based products, like windex can really crap out your LCD turning it cloudy. I have not noticed any clouding effects, but my question is would the edge to edge coating on the m11x protect from the ammonia? I stopped using it of course! Is it a plastic or glass coating?

Everyone on this forum says its plastic but I read a few reviews saying it is glass:

"The display has edge-to-edge glass and the bezel isn’t even that large, aside from on the bottom where the lack of height is abundantly clear."

I've used the "LCD-safe" office wipes myself, but I never tried Windex yet.

Lightly damp paper towel, make sure to get most of the water out. Dry paper towel to dry.

I would not use a paper towel, it`s made of wood after all and will eventually damage your screen, buy yourself a microfibre cloth and some lcd safe cleaning solution.

For drying/removing dust/minor finger prints I have a square of an old undershirt I cut out. It's super soft so no scratches and it will remove most small finger prints and such without a cleaner. Then I'll come back with the moist paper towel/cleaner with cloth once a week or so to really get the grime off as it were.

I like 70% Alcohol, effective, not abrasive, and evaporates on it's own.

Don't use windex or paper towels on plastic. Ever. A microfiber moistened with water will remove any of the persistent stuff, but you need to be gentle and take your time. Follow up with a dry microfiber for the finger prints and lint.

Really, people! Windex? Shame on you. :p

It's not the screen it's a sheet of plastic (tap, tap, yea plastic) in front of the screen.
So lightly does it, microfiber ftw, like wot others say.
