Hello, I am having an issue with my laptop, my wifi works ok, but at certain moments a "Limited Access" message pops out. After I reconnect, everything is fine but It annoys me, because that usually happens when I start downloading torrents, and I have to reconnect several times for larger torrents. I am not sure if it is a WiFi card issue, or more of a router issue.

Another problem I noticed, is that sometimes my PC screen and sound freezes, and it needs reboot. Again, this happens when I am generating internet traffic - downloading or playing online game.

Do you have any suggestions ?

What brand of router? I've had a few Linksys ones, and they've always choked on bittorent downloads with thousands of seeds/peers. It is only very rarely I lose access, but often it will get slow, and shutting it down for a few seconds will speed it back up. I haven't had any issues with the M11x, though I've only moved 125gb through it according to utorrent's stats.

As for the second issue, heavy wifi traffic causing freezing is a known issue, and a search should generate a few threads. I didn't follow the topic, so I don't know if it was resolved.

I agree with corwinicre - what you describe is most likely a router problem. Consumer-grade routers just aren't powerful enough to handle the massive traffic and switching demands of something like a torrent. A single torrent connecting to 50 peers is like having 50 people in your house, all connected to a single router, all browsing websites on the internet.

Try rebooting the router by unplugging it for 30 sec and then plugging it back in. If the problem still persists, then there isn't a way to resolve this unless you either cut down on your torrenting, or buy a router that is more capable of handling heavy torrent traffic.
