Just a quick question, which m11 would be the best choice for games such as TF2, DoD:S, CS:S, WoW and Eve...

The SU7300 or the i7 640um? I've heard some conflicted reports wrt to the latter.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to NBR :)

I'd recommend the i7 variant. I believe the i5 is about the same (in terms of CPU power) as the SU7300 OC'd, but now that trottlestop is out, the i5 may be a bit faster, now.

The GPU on either one is the same, it's only the CPU that makes the difference. When getting a setup as power constrained as the m11x, it's often best to just get the most powerful configuration possible.

i5 is very close to the i7 and miles ahead of the C2D... wprime 32m for i5 with TS on is 28 sec for 166fsb and wprime32m for i7 with TS on and 166fsb is about 24.5sec... for C2D its in the 50's even overclocked. With TS off and 166fsb on i5 I still get 36 seconds.

If money and performance is an issue I would suggest the i5 over the i7 cause you are going to pay an extra $150 for 3 seconds off wprime.
