The game was running fine with the stock drivers but after I updated to the Dell 257.30, I cant even start the game anymore. I keep getting the DirectX error. So anyone who has this game been able to run it with any other driver expect for the stock?

    thanx

    Haven't tried that but if there's a demo I'll have a go.

It also works great with this driver set. This driver set plays everything and is great but does not fix the punkbuster issue.

I am using the 258.96 beta drivers still (which are basically the same as mainstream), and it works great for me!

Thanks everyone! I am going to try this driver. I had the other modded one, 18xx.79 and the battery life suddenly went down. I put the old driver back and now its hovering at the usual 6+ hours. What do you guys with the 258.96 drivers see in terms of battery life (normal web browsing, nothing heavy)?

I get 5-6hrs on avg depending on what I do most of the time including the 189.79 drivers. I have not seen any battery impact between drivers myself so far. I dont normally look at the windows battery meter since that is completely not accurate. use BatteryBar it will give a more accurate result. Also if you notice a drop using BatteryBar will allow you to check on the avg battery drain as well. From there you can really determine if there is really an increase of power consumption after the drivers switch.
