What browser does everybody use on their m11x? I'm using IE8 atm but I hate it, seems way too buggy. I'm a bit out of touch as i've used Safari for the past 5 years. So which should i go for?

Chrome only because Firefox eats up too much CPU. I'll get FPS drops with Firefox open, which isn't true with Chrome. Otherwise, I'd use Firefox, since it has a more diverse selection of plugins (like tree style tabs, which puts the tabs on the side rather than at top, which is great for widescreen layouts like the m11x has).

Was a devote Firefox user for years but I finally got fed up how long it took to start the darn browser and decided to try out Chrome. I haven't looked back, it's fast and it integrates seamlessly between my computers.

I used to use Chrome but it began crashing on me constantly so I switched back to Firefox.

I use Opera - built in e-mail, RSS feeds, contacts, and Bit Torrent client, with a built in sync between computers. It's small and fast and works with 95% of websites. I end up using IE8 for anything that doesn't work with Opera.

Exactly this. Great browser, love the Google cloud thing but wish it would sync with my android browser too.

I really tried to like google chrome, and used it for a couple of months. It was fast and simple to use; with that said, i came back to using firefox because I just missed the customization and abundant features. If you're looking for something fast and simple, get google chrome; if you're looking for personalization and features, go for firefox.

I think Opera should be added to the poll.

    Firefox for development.
Opera for HTML and ECMAScript standards testing.
    Opera for file downloads.
    Chrome/Safari for Webkit compatibility testing.
    IE9, IE8, IE7 and IE6 for W3C standards workarounds.
HTML5 and ECMAScript for desktop standards.
XHTML Mobile Profile and ECMASCript Mobile Profile for mobiles.

If the desktop browser doesn't support CSS3 RGBa then it's old school. Sorry Microsoft.

True, add Opera to the list

Firefox for the add-ons that I use. I've also setup SSH tunneling on my dd-wrt router so that when I'm not at home and on public wifi all my browser traffic can be encrypted.

Chrome the most and then Firefox for me, varies depending on what I want to do.

i like chrome but youtube triggers optimus to switch to the nvidia 335m for a task which could easily be handled by the integrated graphics. i might switch back to firefox which is too bad because i really like chrome.

I'm amazed I haven't seen anyone mention it, but Pale Moon. It's Firefox with all of the same add-ons and what not but much faster.

Firefox. I used to use IE9 but I found that it was cutting my download speeds in half by ~50% for some reason.

I agree with this comment. Once I tried Chrome I switched on every computer I touch for home or for work. The speed and clean interface is what I like the most.

One reason it may take so long to startup is because every time you start the browser searches for any updates to addons you may have.

Disable that feature and the startup speed is nearly Chrome-comparable.

That being said, <3 chrome!

To those staying with Firefox over Chrome because of add-ons and customization I had the same worry myself. However I found that Chrome's extensions and customization to be on par with Firefox and dare I say, even better.

Oh and even when I've disabled all my extensions in Firefox it still takes longer to load compared to Chrome with all my extensions enabled.

Thanks all. I installed Chrome this morning and it's great, so much better. I didn't even consider Opera, I would add it to the poll but I don't know how :D
Definately gonna look into it more.
