I saw one new for $780. Will they get any lower than that? Are there any discounts (like student or military) or promotions that I can apply to the official site to get it for less?

Edit: I'm actually looking for an i5 model, the best price for which is $950.

You can try to haggle over the phone. I hear that there is great success with people here trying this strategy.

Here you are, dell epp with a coupon from dealigg. When you first make an epp account you get an extra 50 dollar off coupon which I dont know is stackable or not.

Yeah, that site has to be the biggest rip-off in the history of mankind. The M11x there is the C2D version with no real upgrades, and it is listed at $1050! The student discount brings it down to $950, but that's still $150 more than the normal site. I think they just use it to prey on parents who know nothing about computers and instantly buy anything for their kids.

That's the bare-bones model, right? Not an i5?
