What's a good IMovie like program for that works well on the M1 for a noob that needs to make fly fishing videos for work?

    Hey All,

My brother needs a new PC bad because he lives in Mexico and owns a ocean sport fly fishing guiding biz and needs to make videos for his website.

All of his tech guys there are Apple fanboys and are brainwashing him into a mac.

But he can't afford one, so he's frustrated.

I can't afford one either, and really don't like paying the Apple tax, and I could afford to buy him an R1 at BB.

Is there a PC equivalent that is as Noob friendly at making videos as IMovie?

Will it run well on an R1?

If so, I think I'm going to buy him one tomorrow as he'll be in L.A. for 2 days. So, any heads up or red lights on why this might not be a good idea is much appreciated. Because if he really needs a user friendly comp. I could probably afford a 13" Macbook Pro, but after looking at how old the specs are, I really am gritting my teeth at the thought of buying one.

What's the answer? How about this Sony Vegas for $99 I've seen compared to IMovie online?

I know the R1 machine is better than an MBP! But will a guy who is a casual PC user be able to?

    Thanks!

Gawd, sorry for the typos in the title thread. That should at least say M11x...

    Embarrassing.

If a mod wants to edit it?

Well, the Alienware M11x is still windows so....
I wouldn't call user friendly lol.
On top of that, you don't quite get the awesome built in editing software that Macs have so....

As much as I hate to say it (PC Fanboy) your brother should get a Mac...

THX, windowslive has a free video software that works well for making simple videos. I use it to make Video Game Utube vids.

Google search "windows live download". It comes with several software programs and it's free for any licensed win7 user.

    Take Care,

    StevenX

Good lord... windows movie maker. *Built in and free! MORE than good enough for edits.

Called "Windows Live Movie Maker" in Windows 7 its available for free download or may already be installed.

papajohn.org for more writeups. WMM2 was pretty decent but on the other hand the new one is easier in some ways for the noob
