I keep trying to install my new HDD but I keep getting a black screen that says "couldn't detect bootmgr" or something along those lines. If I can someone to help me get back this "bootmgr" I can literally restore my old hdd into my new one.

Someone please help or advise on what I need to do. I've spent two whole days from morning to late at night trying to get all my old data into my new drive...

Dellienware's support isn't something I would want to call unless I have absolutely no choice.

The bootmgr is a part of code on the hard-disk drive that allow the laptop to know that a drive is bootable or not.

    Two solutions.
    - You can try the Windows Startup Repair Fix (may work). You can find this with the Installation DVD.

    - You can fix the bootmgr following this tutorial Cli Bootmgr Fix

    You can try this out.

You can also use a CMD from the Windows disc and enter these commands, after each one, hit enter.

    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot

Hope it helps a bit, you might need to reinstall windows.
